In the Beginning.....
September 6, 1980
The Verde Valley Computer Club was established on September 6, 1980 with the efforts of Dan Edwards and Bob Crozier. The first meeting to organize the Club was held at the Black Hill Restaurant in
Clarkdale, Arizona. The October 4th meeting yielded 14 members. Today we are 268 family memberships strong with approximately 70 to 90 members attending the general meetings each month.
We have seven Special Interest Groups (SIG's). These SIG meetings are geared for the Novice to the Advanced users. The club is dedicated to acquiring, sharing and spreading knowledge about the use of personal computers. We have a Seniors Introduction to Computers class, which teaches the "Seniors" in our community how to use computers.
"Users Helping Users" is our motto - let's continue.
Benefits
The Verde Valley Computer Club offers many benefits to its members. We have a newsletter published once a month that contains very useful information. We have several members who are willing to help other members with any problems they may be having with software or hardware. We call these people our
Good
Guys N' Gals. They're always there when we need help.
Membership dues are $30.00 per household, per year. This membership includes you, your spouse and any children under 25. Come visit one of our meetings and see what we have to offer. |
