Articles of Incorporation By-Laws Insurance Our History Mentors Local ISPs Our Board of Directors & Volunteers The Verde Valley Computer Club is a non-profit corporation formed as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your tax deductible donations are appreciated. Members have a number of "mentors" available who are experienced in a variety of fields to help you with hardware or software problems. E-mail us and a mentor will get in touch with you to help you get that problem solved. Our General Meetings are held monthly in the Clemenceau Building Auditorium. We offer special presentations on a variety of topics. A wide variety of Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings are also held monthly and a Beginners class series on Introduction to Computers is held weekly during most of the year (see Club Calendar). You are invited to explore our club's activities, SIG groups & General Meetings to get an understanding of our club before you become an active member. All classes offered by the Verde Valley Computer Club are offered for free to members and visitors. Visitors are invited to try us out before joining. Donations are always gratefully accepted at each of our events to help defray costs. Our membership dues are $30 a year from January to December. We pro-rate the membership fees according to when during the year you first join. In the Beginning..... September 6, 1980 The Verde Valley Computer Club was established on September 6, 1980 with the efforts of Dan Edwards and Bob Crozier. The first meeting to organize the Club was held at the Black Hill Restaurant in Clarkdale, Arizona. The October 4th meeting yielded 14 members. Today we are 217 members strong with approximately 50 to 60 members attending the general meetings each month. We have several Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These SIG meetings are geared for the Novice to the Advanced users. The club is dedicated to acquiring, sharing and spreading knowledge about the use of personal computers. We have a Beginners Introduction to Computers Class, which teaches the "Beginners" in our community how to use computers. "Users Helping Users" is our motto - let's continue. Benefits The Verde Valley Computer Club offers many benefits to its members. We have a newsletter published once a month that contains very useful information. We have several members who are willing to help other members with any problems they may be having with software or hardware. We call these people our Good Guys N' Gals. They're always there when we need help. Membership dues are $30.00 per household, per year. This membership includes you, your spouse and any children under 25. Come visit one of our meetings and see what we have to offer. These Good Guys N' Gals are here to help you in specific areas. Their talents are not just limited to one subject. If you have any questions regarding software problems, give them a call. They will be more than happy to help you. Some services may require a charge.
Any others out there who are willing to share their skills? Being a Mentor doesn’t mean you have ALL the answers just a willingness to help someone. Join us! (This list is provided for reference only; and is not intended to be a recommendation for any particular ISP)
